Natural Farming in Thailand

Natural Farming of Thaland is interacting with Korea since1980; the agricultural and Rural development efforts among the government, non government organizations and the farmer’s associations in Thailand were seeking solutions to solved the problems of Ecological and Environment which have lot of impacts to the human and environment.

85% of the Farmers in Thailand increased their productions with high-technology and high in-put in Chemical Fertilizers. Insecticides and weedicides, these are the major problem today that makes farmers poor and in debt, it is called modernization but not civilizations.

In 1998 – 2000 Han Kyu Cho the founder and Chairman of Korean Natural Farming Association ( KNFA.) had visited Thailand with the cooperated by Rev. Sang Swang Kim the Korean CANAAN EXODUS MISSION in Chiangrai. They provided training in Natural Framing which are conceptual and practically to the farmers.

Social workers like SANTIASOK COMMUNITIES Church members, Agriculture extension workers and the UNIVERSITY had participated in these training.

The last Training in the Northern Thailand was organized at MAEJO UNVERSITY during MAY 2000. Participants in the north had established TNFA to applied and serve the poor – small farmers 1999 and started UP, a small project which follows the conceptual and practical of KNFA.

Activities of TNFK ( Thai Natural Farming Network ) includes: Pig farm, Worm, Inputs,
Organic Tea, Making IMO and Composting, Padi farming, Training on the highland, The longan fruit etc.
